curacorn®️

What is Curacorn®️?

Curacorn®️ is a revolutionary treatment where special dermal fillers are injected into the skin to prevent painful, reoccurring lesions such as a callus or a corn. A perfect, long term treatment for busy people who regularly visit a podiatrist to have them removed or padded using traditional methods. The dermal filler we use is known as Hyaluronic Acid. This is a natural substance which comes with very few side-effects so is even safe to use on patients with Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

How does Curacorn®️ work?
Corns and calluses are formed when there is friction or pressure between the skin and bone. Curacorn®️ works by specifically injecting dermal filler between the bone and the outer skin, helping to create a 'pillow' effect between the the two. This then stops the bodies protective mechanism in the form of callus/corns to the affected area leading to instant pain relief. Simple, right?

My callus/corn has been there for a long time, can Curacorn®️ help me?
Yes, Curacorn®️ is clinically proven to be effective on longstanding callus and all types of corns, including those on the soles of the feet, on top of the toes and also soft corns that lie in-between the toes. In fact the Curacorn®️ technique has already been shown to have high patient satisfaction rates for new or reoccurring corns with just 1-2 treatments with it's effects lasting up to 18 months or in some cases, longer!

Who can benefit from Curacorn®️?
People who can benefit from this unique and innovative treatment include those with:

  • Painful, longstanding callus and corns found on high weight-bearing areas of the foot or in-between the toes
  • Thinning of the natural fatty padding in the ball of the foot, exposing the joints to high pressure on walking
  • Thinning of the natural fatty padding under the heel bone, leading to chronic heel pain
  • Orthopaedic changes of the foot leading to high pressure areas such as bunions and hammer toes
  • High or low arched feet
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Diabetes

  • Is this painful?
Curacorn®️ treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic making treatment pain-free! A mild ache may occur at the area of the foot treated for up to 24 hours following treatment so oral analgesic pain relief such as paracetamol are fine to use.

Will I be suitable for Curacorn®️?
Curacorn®️ can be carried out on most people. However cannot be used on those who:

  • Have hypersensitivity or known allergies to any of the ingredients in the products
  • Have been treated with local cortisone injections within the last six weeks
  • Are allergic to stinging insects
  • Are under the age of 18
  • Have local tumors or local bacterial and/or viral infections
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

How many sessions will I need?
Curacorn®️ protocol usually involves 1 to 3 treatments, depending on the severity of the lesion, planned at a rate of a follow up treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks. Many patients report feeling instant relief after their first treatment! The effects of the treatment are cumulative, so you should expect to see improvements with each treatment. Once you begin treatment plan, it is important to return for your follow up appointments or symptoms may reoccur.

What to expect on the day
Your initial consultation & assessment will include a full medical history where we will assess your suitability for the proposed treatment, this includes a vascular and neurological assessment on your feet. If you are a suitable candidate, a treatment plan will be discussed and agreed.

You will then be booked in for your allocated appointments with a senior podiatrist for the administration and review of your Curacorn®️ treatment.

Treatment - We will revisit your suitability and check no changes to your medical status, consent you for treatment, take a photo of the lesion, remove any overlying hard skin and administer a small amount of local anaesthetic to numb the area allowing for a pain-free treatment. We will then administer the Curacorn®️

Review - This is usually 4-8 weeks later where we will review the efficacy of your treatment and if necessary, book you back in to top up the treatment using the same procedure and protocol.

    How much does it cost?

    Initial Consultation & Assessment - £55 (30 mins)

    Treatment - £250 per treatment

Is there any aftercare following my treatment?
Standing and walking on the area treated should be avoided for a minimum of 24 hours after undergoing treatment until the filler beds in so it is generally recommended to take a day off work. There may a small but noticeable swelling which normally occurs immediately following treatment so application of ice to the affected area can help reduce the risk of any bruising and/or swelling. If there is any undue discomfort/discolouration or swelling after treatment it is advised that you contact the clinic to see your podiatrist.
