Do you experience Bromodosis? Unsure? I’ll rephrase.
Do you have smelly feet? The law of averages say that either you do, or know someone who does. Bromodosis is a form of body odour, specific to the feet. So as common as it is to have had sweaty and stinky armpits in the past, it’s just as easy to have foot odour. The causes of Bromodosis can vary, but, similar to other body odour, the most common culprit is sweating. But sweaty feet can be a symptom of some other causation that needs to be solved.

Did you know that your feet have about 250,000 sweat glands. When sweat combines with bacteria, like when your feet are trapped in closed shoes and socks the whole day, your feet are going to smell. If that sounds like you, there are a few things you can do to stop the sweat cycle.

Not sure what to do about it? No Sweat… Literally!

The easiest and cheapest solution is to wear clean, moisture-wicking socks every day and, where possible, it’s advisable to change your socks once a day. If you want to go a step further, change your footwear once a day and, as often as possible, air out your feet. You can also powder your feet with medicated talc before putting on socks to absorb moisture build up. You should also wash feet with mild soap and lukewarm water at least once a day. Dry thoroughly, making sure to remove all the moisture between toes to stop bacteria growth!

But what if you do all of the above and it still doesn’t help. Have you considered that you may have a condition called Hyperhidrosis? This causes excessive sweating. In this case, you may want to add anti-odour sprays to your hygiene routine. You should also consider talking to your GP about this, where they can advise on further treatments that help to manage this.
