It’s April – and here at Doncaster Foot Clinic we’re all about joining in with Spring Cleaning! Our stocks of our favourite foot products have been replenished, and it’s out with the old and in with the new as our newest Laser Pain Therapy technology is proving a massive hit with both our patients and our podiatrists!
Winter Can Be Tough On Your Feet
But why should YOU freshen up your feet as winter finishes and spring begins? Well, you’ve probably spent the last several months with your feet bundled up. Thick, cosy socks & chunky boots are a thing of the past now the warmer weather is starting – but you may notice that your feet may look and feel a little bit worse for wear now they’re out in the open. Winter boots and closed shoes can lead to dry, cracked skin and even fungal infections due to less air circulation. To counter this we recommend a thorough foot soak and scrub to remove all that build up of dead skin.
Spring Your Feet Forward
At Doncaster Foot Clinic, we offer a high quality and incredibly priced chiropody treatment foot soak service, designed to provide ultimate care and relaxation for your feet to spring them back into action. This includes a luxurious foot soak, enriched with essential oils like lavender, rosemary, and thyme, aimed at softening the skin, promoting relaxation, and easing tension. This treatment also includes careful trimming of the toenails and the application of specialised techniques to enhance the health and appearance of the feet, concluding with moisturising and a gentle massage. Throughout, we’ll also pay attention and assess the condition of your feet, bringing attention to any calluses, corns, verrucas or ingrown toenails
where we can discuss the later treatment of these. This service is competitively priced at just £57.
Don’t Let Nail Problems Hold You Back
We mentioned toenails earlier, and the cold weather, combined with wearing heavy boots can sometimes lead to toenail problems like ingrown toenails or fungal infections. Spring is a great time to inspect your toenails for discolouration, thickening, or signs of ingrowing, especially if you’re wanting perfect looking feet for your upcoming summer holidays! Remember, best practice for toenail care is to trim your toenails straight across to avoid ingrown toenails. There is no embarrassment if you need professional help with this, and if you do, please contact us to book in for our toenail cutting service!
Remember To Walk Before You Run!
The nicer weather usually means we see more people on the streets on daily runs and walks! If the warmer temperatures has tempted you into upping your activity levels, then that’s great news! But, pardon the pun, but remember to walk before you can run. What we mean is, start off by increasing your activity gradually. Always warm up and warm down. If you notice new pain that is persistent, and accompanied by swelling or won’t go away after rest – then book in with us so we can assess. It may be that we can recommend different footwear, introduce orthotics or even prescribe Laser Pain Relief Therapy.
We’re Here For You
Regardless of the time of year, foot health is always about knowing what is normal for you, and responding to physical or visual changes or persistent pain. If you’re unsure, schedule a consultation with one of our podiatrists. We’ll be able to see you at a time that suits your schedule, and fix your feet fast.
